And I'm Back

Like i said previously I won't be able to go to Japan this year. I just wasn't able to raise the amount I needed to in time. I am looking to get a new job that will allow me to not live pay check to pay check. Then I can start traveling again as luck would have it. However I am still looking to go to Japan on my own to visit my friend Ryan. So please still feel free to commission me I still love the work.


Speaking of commissions I am currently working on a rather large one in a restaurant that's opening up here in town. I will be painting a wall mural there. This I hope will bring in a significant amount of money so that I can pay off most of the bills I have acquired over this semester aka credit card stuff. And get me Wii Fit... oh yeah. All in all it will allow me to better raise money for traveling. Once you leave the country you get a traveling bug for sure.

Missing the GF right now shes got a massive paper to work on and unfortunately I'm a bit of a distraction. Hell I even distract myself lol... This will give me time to really work on this wall mural plus some commissions and to color my own art work that I have been readily sketching up in the absence of my computer. BTW she's wonderful can't believe I went that long with out being in a relationship I had completely forgottten how much fun it is.

death of the computer

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 13, 2008, 11:56 AM So Some of you fine folks out there in internet land are probably wondering what happened to me. almost 3 weeks without dare I say I might have died?... Well that's not the case but close my pretties.

My motherboard died on me. Just up and quite so I decided it was about time for an update anyway. Got a new mother board, new Graphics card, new processor and upped the Ram for good measure. Well New egg sent all of the stuff cept the mother board in one box and the mother board in another. Both to my old address. The first box my friend Eddie just signed for and we were good the second he new i wanted it as soon as possible so he gave them my new address. Well that day UPS was being evil and decided to take it back to their shipping area to hold till I got there. This is fine i was told to come in before 9. I made it in at 8 to find that they had accidentally re packaged it to send back to new egg. So even though it was there they couldn't get it because it would cost them money even though it was there fault. So i call newegg to find out store hrs are 8 - 5... So i wake up at 8 and call them again ... 8-5 pacific time... so i wake up at ten and the lady is like... oh sorry you'll just have to re order it. So i re order it through FEDEX i am never using UPS again they can burn for all i care... and i hate their commercials. Anyway so it arrives on a Thursday right when it was supposed to and i thanked the fedex man and expressed my love for THEIR mailing service. So I finally get the thing together with the help of my friend James. But i have to go to work so i can't turn it on just yet. I come home that night super excited turn it on, load in the driver updates and it turns off and beeps at me. You have no idea how defeating that is. So the next day I call tech support... yeah i know I'm never doing that again. After taking their advice twice and haver two trips across town to buy parts that i didn't need from best buy I concluded that tech support is retarded and got fed up and took my tower into geek squad. Now i could have taken it to friends but at least this way with any luck I'll get a straight answer and much props to Best buy for a full return policy. So computer wise thats where I'm at. Fun huh when it's back up and running expect alot of new art I've still been drawning like crazy.

On to life update.

So I am no longer single... I know... I know... all you fan girls and guys who had secretly hoped to hook up with me have just been crushed but it's for the best really... It's not you it's me. But shes wonderful he's an artistic likeness of her. We meet on Valentine's day. Started dating on Easter. We're a holiday couple She gave me reason to freak because she said she had to consider my question and she said yes while i was helping her prepare an Easter meal... mainly chopping onions so yeah she said yes while i was crying MANLY tears from onions lol. But it's be a grand time and oddly enough she fits into my crazy family and her crazy family seems to love me... What would ya know lol.

I am also without the aid of my computer trying to work on a massive mural commission for a local eatery which I hopes pans out... I need to finish it fast. Working on more art for the adult circus. [link] This time a t-shirt design. Also in the art life I am looking to get a new job working in the wonderful art field. Well it would be an 8-5 yay for structure in my life. But I would be working in the art department at this place where they make t-shirts. Something I've been doing for years. We'll see how it pans out. If not I've always got Carlos... yay... he said dryly.

Ok and further more I just threw one bad ass party for the after party of the Japanese Festival here at K-state. This year the school did not help us with funds and yet we were still able to get [link] whom is a story teller and pretty much awesome Of course our yosakoi group was there. and some new performance groups from KU including a taiko and Asa group. All in all the day was just amazing. On a down note I was not able to raise the funds needed to go to Japan in time. So I will have to miss out this year. I will be opening up and or changing the commissions over to get a cintriq i think they are called the waccom with screens in them to help improve my digital coloring so all of you can see even better art from me.

Well thats my massive update I REALLY hope to be back up and running soon. I love and miss you all.

Oh fun side note... recently I had to learn a hard lesson about using reference material and or mixing and pulling stuff together to create isn't always creating but is using without asking. I made amends for my mistake and learned a valuable lesson from it. So recently when I was alerted in a rather rude fashion the the fact that someone had taken my art without permission I now know how it feels.

pretty familiar huh... I've sent them several emails all of which have not been replied to. And there in lies the difference. When i was called out based on a mistake I had made I immediately took it down and made steps to rectify the problem. I felt awful and even though i was naive to that sort of stuff when i created it. Am no longer so and I make sure to do all my own work... i learned my lesson.

100 percent chance of Rain and Road rage

Some old punisher art work I haven't really shown this piece to anyone. So here's as good a place as any. So this weekend was pretty much awesome. My good friend Tamera from ages past whom used to live in South Caroline came to Manhattan and we get to hang out for quite a bit of time. watched a few movies and best of all she dyed my hair.... pictures later. But yeah she dyed it black in the front dark read in the back. So far i really like it. She left today when I wasn't hanging out with her because she had many people to catch up with here in ol Manhattan. I was either working or spending that time with Cherry.

This is also when i found out that one of my co-workers can drink like a fish. O.o totally put away most of the liqueur that I had brought over when me and Cherry disappeared into the ice cold frigging night for periods of 30 to 40 min apparently. We didn't really catch the time passing. I must admit I have a Cherry addiction now. :D After work today I went and helped her move into her new house which is up several flights of stairs and got to meet the famous pizza guy from California named Johnny lol. We got Pita pit afterwards I gotta say that Falafle Pita's are just the most amazing things ever.

I recently came to the conclusion that I must be a bad driver. But others if offended can be 90% worse. So I forgot to check my blind spot coming home for work today maybe to to the fact I was on the cell phone. But apparently someone had be trying to get the same place as me and I cut them off. I didn't even know work was long and I was just trying to get home and take a shower when I heard honking and saw this guy in my rear view mirror swerving through traffic and he speeds up right next to me. I had the window down and he proceeds to say something to this effect. "You stupid mother F***er get off the f***ing phone and pull the f*** over and park before you hurt someone you f***ing retard!" I actually am pretty sure this man whom had a K-state alumni sticker , k-state jacket, and hat and apparently mouth spewed out at me while swerving next to me because he wasn't watching the road in front of him while he was yelling at me and I was apologizing for my mistake and thinking to myself my indiscretion while bad does not warrant such a display of brazen road rage. and He speed off afterwards... I was on the phone with my dad at the time and he was just amazed lol.

In the most awesome news ever the weather man today on the radio said there was a 100% chance that there would be rain tomorrow. O.o seriously when have you ever heard a weather person say anything with such confidence especially in Kansas. If I was a weatherman in Kansas I would surely just assume that the weather has a mind of it's own and there little I could do to predict it. Well that's all for now.

Far to early for Yosakoi

Well today was pretty long for sure. I had to get up at 9 to drive to Salina to preform for yosakoi. It was a great performance really we were preforming for a group of female leaders. One whom was a speaker from K-state named Grace from Taiwan. Her speech was moving and I was so glad I got to experience both. Afterwards I met with Akiko and Diana for some ice cream which I got for free cause I know the manager :D. Then on to yosakoi meeting I'm still trying to figure out how I can make it to Japan. But I was so so tired from staying up too late and getting up too early when Tamera made her way here after hanging out for a bit we went out for a meal and then she had to go off and hang out with a friend of hers. I got to chat with cherry about our adventures the night before. Always fun. Then i finished the artwork i was working on for you to see now. Pit from Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Japan update

Well Tamera will be coming up today this evening in fact. It will be good to see here again after all this time. I always enjoy it when old friends resurface. This picture to your left I drew a while ago and only recently colored it's starfire from teen titans. Getting ready to leave for Salina to preform Yosakoi for a school i think O.o I can't remember. Apparently, we still have practice tonight. As far as going to Japan I don't think I'll be able to pull it this year with what I owe for credit cards, my parents, my school loan and my other loan. Kinda sad This trip sounds like it will be a great deal of fun from what I have heard of the plans. But you never know if i can raise 1400 in a week :D well a little less than that I have raised a significant amount myself so far. In other news been hanging out more with Cherry took her out for dinner and a study break two nights ago and just hung out with her last night. Always good times and lots of laughter there. But yeah more to come catch you all later :D

Living the life

Starting off today with Pit from Super Smash Brothers Brawl... Cause that game rules. Some might call me lazy or that I hold no grip on what real life consists of but these are just all horrible misinterpretations of what I truly do. I live the exact life that I want to right now. I work to pay my bills that's the only reason I work if it were not for the need to pay bills I would not have a job. I draw because that is what I love to do. I love life I try to fully embrace all aspects of it when ever possible so when I tell you these last two days I have done damn near nothing judge not by the outer assumption. But look at it as a way to see just how relaxing the reality of nothing is. How often in this social straining world do we get to just relax and do what we want to. When was the last time you read a book that you WANTED to read, or played a video game or taken someone out for dinner. The list goes on some how we have all managed to schedule out all the things we need to do to enjoy life and focused instead on something similar to progression of estate. We want more so that as most people would say they can do less work later... Build up your fortune so in your golden years you can be set. Right and on that road you'll wither and die creatively and I think that's a big reason for Alzhiemers... We aren't challenging our minds we need a reality that allows us to both challenge and enrich the higher learning functions that come from experience. So what did I do these last few days... Aside from The Artistic Corner where I got to hang out with Meredith and Keegan. Great peoples btw. I just played a video game. That's it just relaxed and had fun with my friends playing a game. I look forward to other such frivolous activities that mean nothing more than a time to rest your mind and relax. With that break from my art I had a new vision and eagerly drew out several drawing two of which you have seen in this post. But yes to all of you that read this never forget that the greatest lessons we learn in life all come from experience. I plan on living that life to the fullest. Lastly I end with tattoo art I did for my friend Katie Maddy.

Super Smash Mizell Brothers Brawl

So I'm gonna start this blog with a picture of the very lovely Samus in her zero suit. I drew this a while ago and plan on coloring it probably in between a break for Super smash. So my brother his best friend Andrew and his GF Karlynn. This group dynamic is an odd one Seeing as well in some sense Andrew is like a needy BF and visa versa with Karlynn. So here's Stephen playing give and take with em and seriously they were fighting over him. Then there is me who hasn't seen my brother in almost the same amount of time playing the needy brother soaking up fun times with him like a sponge.

Well they got in on Fri and Karlynn had to stay at Aaron and Priscilla's house which is my other brother who lives in the area. So sense it suddenly became a boys night and my friend Dana was having her Birthday party well i figured they ought to go to one of the best Manhattan parties around. It was a blast we played guitar hero and Stephen actually picked for his first song the very first song I picked. "Here we go again" by OK GO. This was just a blast of a party. None of us really drank and or smoked but i got to cuddle up with this girl I met named Christina. I love meeting new people and of course the ever loving Cherry making the party even more fun for sure. Andrew caught himself a nice little girl lol and got to take his shirt off and parade around in a coconut bra. One that I made good use of before that lol. We partied there till maybe 4 in the morning Stephen was getting tired and I'll admit I was too. Came back to my place and chatted a bit then nodded off.

Saturday started great I had decided that I was going to cook Octopus for my guests mainly i just wanted to know if I could cook it lol. They were soooooo weird feeling once you got them thawed out. I didn't chance the heads or the mid section of the big ones in my stir fry so I just used those legs but the baby ones i bought were cooked up fully and each of use got to eat one. Side note maybe unrelated but I have developed some kinda weird rash I think it has something to do with he couch at the Ella house or something in my sheets. I changed my sheets so maybe that will fix that. But Cherry got to come over and help lol which was worth it just to see her face when she touched the octopus. But the meal came out tasting wonderful made stir fried rice too. Then we watched the death of superman movie and some clips from an evening with Kevin Smith before I had to go to work I was cuddled up with cherry on the not so good couch my evil brother had stolen the super comfy couch lol. Work was work.

Got off gave my brother a call to find out that he had found out that Wal-mart was doing a midnight release. Talk about super excited and They were getting the game at midnight. They came back and we lit into the game and played and played Super Smash Brothers Brawl is everything you could wish for and more. The stages are beautiful the characters wonderful and once you get the hang of it again just like old times. But Stephen had to take Karlynn to Aaron's so he took off at liek 3 in the morning and figured sense we were gonna stay up late and brawl and he needed to be on the road the next day he just crashed out at Aaron's house and got his sleep. I was up till like 7 in the morning mainly cause of that stupid time change. Went to bed and then it was Sunday.

My brother came back up here and brought Aaron apparently Priscilla needed to sleep and do homework. So we tried our best to unlock as much stuff as we could and brawl out too and Aaron cooked up some awesome spaghetti funny thing was the other reason Stephen stayed at his house was because he assumed I would skip breakfast but much to Andrews surprise I made him eggs n rice. lol. But yeah we basically played till they had to leave. It was a sad parting but hopefully I'll see him again soon. After they left i spent more time playing SSBB until i pitched taking a break and hanging out with Cherry. She suggested I wear a skirt and she dress up like a dude and we go out for ice cream. When I got there she had the perfect stencilled mustache and a great tie and hat too. So off we went to get ice cream and after wards we cuddled up n watched Venture bro's... So yeah so far pretty much the best weekend ever. I hope this week will follow suite... Be ready for a lull in art. I'll be playing SSBB a whole lot. catch you all later.
